Jan 04, 2012 While the vaunted Indian batting failed once again and the Aussies were grinding India into the dust, Virat Kohli, known for his aggro on the field, was clicked gesturing with his middle finger to the crowd during day two of the Second Test Match between Australia and India at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He claimed that the crowd had taunted him with vile comments regarding his mother and sister. Later on Twitter, he added: “i agree cricketers dont have to retaliate. what when the crowd says the worst things about your mother and sister. the worst ive heard”. Kevin Pietersen tweeted back in sympathy: "@imVkohli ha ha ha ha ha!!! Welcome to Australia buddy!!" and "that's the way it is mate.. Beat them & they start abusing their own!! #fickle." On a more serious note, Kohli could be charged with a level-two offence for breaching the ICC's code of conduct relating to "using language or gesture(s) that is seriously obscene, seriously offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee or any other third person during an international match". If found guilty, he faces a minimum penalty of having half of his match fee docked or a maximum penalty of a one-Test suspension. - Courtesy/ YouTube |
